Accessibility
Sugar Works Distillery, LLC is committed to doing everything we can to ensure our spaces (inside, outside, and online) are accessible for all.
However, as a small family-owned & operated business, we're doing our best here! If you feel we can improve in any way, please let us know.
Our goal for the Barrel Head Club websites' accessibility is to keep the website up to par with WCAG's AA standards for website accessibility.
What are we doing to increase accessibility on our website?
-
We aim to use font color in high contrast to respective background for increased visibility.
-
100% of all photo content published outside of discussion boards on the Barrel Head Club website by Sugar Works Distillery, LLC has alternate text description for visually impaired individuals.
-
At this time Sugar Works Distillery, LLC is not publishing any video content outside of group discussion boards.
-
All sections and design assets on this website directly implemented by Sugar Works Distillery, LLC are titled and named appropriately, for ease of use with accessibility technology aids.
-
All website pages scroll vertically, and are structured with consistent formatting.
-
A login and/or members drop down menu on the top right the website header - which appears on all pages of the website.
-
A secondary navigation bar exists on the top left side of the website header, with three navigation links (home page, club rules page, and group discussion boards page), these links appear in this same location in the header on all pages across the website.
-
Traditional webpages have sections (where applicable) ordered in the following manner: website header, page title, content and information, forms, member quick links, website footer.
-
Sign-up and log-in pages contain a singular form with standard information boxes for login in user name and password, as well as standard links for: exiting log-in/sign-up page, re-directing to sign-up or log-in page, forgotten password and username retrieval and rest links, links for log-in with other online profiles such as Facebook, Google, Outlook, or otherwise.
-
Group board pages and personal account pages are structured in traditional social media fashion, below our running website header section.
-
Discussion boards have a title declaring which board a user is on, followed by navigation tabs for discussion board's feed, media, and about subpages.
-
Personal account pages have a title declaring your primary information (name, membership access, etc...), followed by navigation tabs for personal profile, group boards, notifications, personal information, and account information.
-
-
Accessibility link, Privacy Policy link, contact link, and general business information are available at all times in the website footer displayed on each page across this website.
-
Known Limitations
-
This website is predominantly a paid social platform for Barrel Head Club Members. As such members have the ability to post content to discussion boards that may not meet our accessibility goals, in this respect we ask for your understanding that we cannot be held responsible for ensuring content on personal and group pages remains 100% accessible, especially for content not publish directly by Sugar Works Distiller, LLC.
-
We do not have Sign-Language interpreters, thus we do not publish video content requiring audible language capabilities on non-discussion board pages, to ensure equitable access to information.
-
We do not have built-in voice description anywhere on our website, though we hope we have built it in a manner than allows third-party descriptor programs to effectively aid in the navigation and use of our website.
On-Going Efforts
-
We are always aiming to improve access to our products, often requiring time, learning, and money on our end. Currently Sugar Works Distillery, LLC has a very small but mighty staff of 10-15 people (including ownership), and this website is managed in-house. As such, there are limitations to our working knowledge of technologies used for managing this site.
-
Sugar Works Distillery, LLC reviews this website and it's digital platforms on a minimum of a monthly basis, looking for ways to improve accessibility, legal compliance, and overall user experience.
